Toxic Food for Pets
Common foods in the home you should keep away from your pets
Most Common
Chocolate
(contains theobromine, similar to caffeine, and causes heart arrhythmias and/or death)
Macadamia nuts
(causes severe rear leg weakness and temporary paralysis)
Grapes/Raisins
Pear Seeds Skins & Stems, Plum pits, Peach & Apricot pits, Apple seeds, Persimmons.
Raw Eggs
Raw Fish
Rhubarb Leaves
Potato Leaves & Skins
Tomato Leaves & Skins
Baby Food
(contains onion and garlic)
Alcohol
Almonds
Caffeine
Coffee grounds - often used in gardens as Cocoa Mulch - coffee beans and tea.
Raw Cloves of Garlic
Even though garlic contains thiosulphate like the onion, it appears that it's much less toxic & large amounts would need to be eaten to cause illness.
